Dear (name has been deleted for his protection),
All the best for your exams.
I am sorry things have come down to this, I wish they hadn't and I wish we both could both be mature adults and talk about this in a calm and collected manner. Obviously not all of us have moved on to phase two of their young adult life. It is disappointing to know that you hold so much anger for me and if you really wanted my happiness, you would be happy.
I am sorry if I led u to think otherwise. Your mother hates me? Good. My parents do not hate you at all. They just feel that we do not mesh well together. The reason they aren't so friendly? They have nothing to say, so why bother? Pse do not say hurtful things unless you mean them.
And if you do mean them, then I'm sorry it has come down to this. Sorry we cannot be friends like before. Sorry we cannot even be civil to each other. IF losing you as a friend means that your life is devoid of dramas, then so be it. The sacrifices we have to make.
I had strong feelings for you once. So strong I would have done anything and everything. And maybe that was my shortcoming. For letting myself live for one person and not for myself. I live for myself now.
I have made mistakes in my past, mistakes I cannot erase but I would like to move on from. Everyone is a sinner, no one is a saint. I admit I have been fucked up. I have lied, cheated, backstabbed, bitched everything. And so has everyone. So who is anyone to tell me about what a rotten person I am? Who are you to criticize my actions or the fact that I am dating again?
It would've mattered had we sat down like normal people at a normal time, not when we're working or having lack of sleep, and you speak to me about your concerns about the way I'm living my life but because of the way the day has unfolded, it doesn't matter anymore.
It doesn't matter because you do not respect me now, and you never have. You want to talk about respect? You never respected me, and perhaps, that could be why as time went on, I lost respect for you. Our relationship was a foiled attempt at making love WORK when we come from two very different worlds.
This doesn't change the fact that you once were held dear to my heart and that nothing meant more than seeing you after you finish work. That was then, life was different. We can look back and say, how come it can't be like that anymore, but don't u see? It can't ever again because it is over. And life wasn't a bed of roses then either. We had so many issues, and we weren't happy. Do we want to subject ourselves to unhappiness based on a vague memory we have of something that was a year ago? I should think not.
On the subject of respect, if you have read the email until here, then a pat on the back for you. That shows you have respect for what I have to say. you actually are bothered to listen. Thank you for giving me that. Watching you mature and change has at times made me feel sad that I wasn't there to see you pass all your exams, wasn't there to share your bday with you, didn't have u when I was buying my first car, my first house... and moving into my new life. Definitely, there is a twinge of sadness when I think about the beautiful relationship we did have. And no matter what you say, nothing will discount the memories.
This is too long I think and I have spent the whole morning not working. please do NOT cost me my job.
Regards,
